Background

Heitor, from AS Indústria, introduces the group: the operation makes frozen snacks for supermarket chains, under the D'Gosto and AS Food Service brands. The controllership, in turn, was born with Carmen Costa, two and a half years ago, hired to build the department from scratch and support the industrial operation of both brands. The ERP was already in place, but reading the numbers was still a manual job. Several people touched the same report, the turnaround to the board took too long, and the biggest pain was as simple as it was hard: being sure of the number.

Once Mitra came in, the controllership stopped producing reports and went back to doing analysis. Mitra talks straight to the ERP, pulls the data automatically and delivers, in real time, a number the board can trust to invest. "The word that sums up Mitra for me is efficiency", Carmen says. The result landed in the board's hand, and meetings became shorter, sharper and grounded in real data.

Mitra's turnaround was surreal. Confidence in the numbers, confidence to take the next step.

01 The controllership trajectory

From a department built from scratch to a number delivered straight to the boardroom

Grupo AS's controllership was born with Carmen Costa, hired to build the department from scratch. The path to reliable numbers ran through spreadsheets, ERP and Mitra, in five steps that became the new standard for management.

Starting point
Controllership from scratch
Carmen joins Grupo AS

Carmen Costa joins Grupo AS to build the controllership department from scratch for the D'Gosto and AS Food Service brands.

The weight of manual work
Spreadsheets and many hands
Slow turnaround to the board

The operation runs on spreadsheets. Several hands assemble the same report. The turnaround to the board takes time and trust in the number becomes fragile.

ERP in, gap remains
Data in the system, no analysis
The decision layer is missing

The ERP is rolled out during this period. Data lives in the system, but the team still cannot analyze it. The layer that turns raw data into decisions is missing.

Meeting Mitra
Carmen watches the live
Walks away "in disbelief", rolls it out anyway

Carmen sees Mitra working in a live session and, in her own words, walks away "in disbelief". She decides to roll it out anyway, because reading the ERP directly is exactly what controllership needs.

Instant turnaround
ERP → Mitra → Boardroom
Investment decisions on real data

Mitra talks directly to the ERP and delivers numbers automatically. The board starts making investment decisions on real data, the admin headcount goes down and controllership gets time back for analysis.

The thesis is simple: reliable data in the board's hand does not come from one more spreadsheet — it comes from reading the ERP directly, at the moment the decision needs to be made.

02 Before Mitra → With Mitra

From spreadsheets with many hands to a reliable number delivered on the spot

Before Mitra

Many hands, long lag and doubt about the number before the meeting

  • Number confidence: several hands assembling the same report. The biggest pain was being sure of the number before taking it to the board.
  • Turnaround time: long lag between month-end close and analysis. Long meetings spent discussing where each number came from.
  • Headcount: admin team dedicated to closing the report manually, several people on the same process.
With Mitra

Data straight from the ERP, instant turnaround, controllership back to analysis

  • Number confidence: data talks directly to the ERP, no human rework. "Confidence in the numbers, confidence to take the next step." (Carmen Costa)
  • Turnaround time: instant information, right in the palm of the board's hand. Shorter, sharper meetings focused on decisions.
  • Headcount: lower admin headcount. Controllership goes back to analysis, not spreadsheet assembly.

The word that sums up Mitra for me is efficiency.

03 The impact, on the daily routine

Instant turnaround, shorter meetings and controllership back to analysis

Instant turnaround Primary metric
Instant
from ERP to the boardroom, no human hand in between

The path from operation to decision no longer has a human hand in the middle

Mitra read the Grupo AS ERP, returned a reliable number and cut the distance between operation and decision. When the board needed to lock budget versus actuals for 2026, what used to run on spreadsheets and many hands became a single, auditable figure, delivered on the spot.

Shorter meetings 02
+ short
sharper board meetings, grounded in real numbers

"Today I have a tool that gives me credibility, confidence and the result right in the board's hand." (Carmen Costa)

Admin headcount 03
fewer people assembling spreadsheets, more people analyzing

Controllership stops producing reports and goes back to doing analysis. The admin team shrinks and time is freed for the decisions that matter.
